A few years ago Judy had a chance invitation to travel with a friend to France and Italy to attend cooking schools to learn French and Italian cuisine. Returning to New Zealand with an idea to start her own cooking school she turned her little cottage on Remuera Road, Auckland into a demonstration kitchen and dining room.
“Thyme to Cook” had five chefs demonstrating and creating dishes. The objective was to demonstrate a three course meal or special occasion showcasing dishes that could be used for dinner party ideas, themed evenings, dessert & wine evenings to name a few, 5 nights a week for 14 guests.
It was a great success but an opportunity for Judy’s husband to take up a posting in Papua New Guinea became available so the decision was made to close the cooking school and relocate to PNG. On one of the many visits back to New Zealand, they fell in love with Nelson and decided to open a B&B in the future.
Transferring to Australia, Cairns has been home up until 4 years ago when the decision was made to return to New Zealand permanently to find the perfect house in Nelson to fulfil the dream of opening a “Bed & Breakfast”.
